Yes, all Texas State students will need a Family Weekend ticket. This pays for all of the non-athletic events during Family Weekend. With a current Texas State ID, they will receive free general admission to any athletic event. If your student wishes to sit in reserved seating, they will need to pay for that ticket.
Families often bring grandparents, close friends, extended family, and others who are interested in visiting campus and enjoying Family Weekend. Everyone in your family who is planning on attending Family Weekend activities will need to have a Family Weekend ticket (adults, children, and Texas State students).
Note: Children under the age of 3 do not need a Family Weekend ticket.
Parents and families are encouraged to arrive at Texas State on Friday afternoon so they can get settled, spend some time with their student, and enjoy the events planned for Friday. Check-in Friday is 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There are plenty of events happening both on and off campus. See the schedule of events for more details.
Check-in for Family Weekend will also be available on Saturday for your convenience.
If your student is on campus Friday, and you can't arrive in town until Saturday, encourage your Bobcat to collect your Family Weekend tickets, and take a friend to the Welcome Dinner Friday night in your place. Tickets are required, so be sure they get your packet of tickets first.
Parking for check-in and the Welcome Dinner will be announced at a later date. A map with additional parking information for the weekend will be available in your packet, which will be given to you at check-in.
Please keep in mind that Family Weekend will involve walking around campus. Campus is handicap accessible, however we do not provide scooters or wheelchairs. For more information on mobility assistance and transportation, please click here.
